For facility maintenance which requires immediate attention, such as “water pouring from the ceiling;” call the Harvard Operations Control Center at 617-495-5560. Please identify yourself, specify that you are in the Willim James Hall, give the room number, location and nature of the problem.

Non-Emergency Maintenance

PRESTO-Work Order Request System

For facility maintenance which is not an emergency, please submit an online work order request through the PRESTO work order system using the link above. You will need your Harvard ID and Harvard Key to access the site. This website can be used to enter all non-urgent requests. PRESTO work order entries are reviewed daily by the Northwest Building Operations Team and assigned to the proper person(s) for completion.

Single stream recycling and compost bins are located in the café/lounge, in the mail and copier areas, elevator lobbies, and in the kitchenettes on all floors. Please empty and rinse all containers.  Please, no drinking glasses, windows, mirrors, paint and aerosol cans, plastic bags or other non-recyclable plastic items. Check bin labels for acceptable items. A tube-shaped receptacle for recycling used batteries is located in the basement, room B22. Flattened cardboard boxes can be left outside your office at the end of the day for collection. Please mark them "recycle." Computers and other electronics can be dumped in the big, blue cloth hamper in room B22.  Compostable items should be placed in the compost bins (there are small ones in the kitchenettes on each floor, and large ones in the main lobby, basement lounge, and outside the 15th floor kitchen.  Compost/recycling/trash bins placed in the courtyard as well.
